Specialists have completed the fabrication of the AEROLЁT-01 envelope

The AERONOVA team continues to work on AEROLЁT-01 — a new model in the hybrid airship series. The work is being carried out under the supervision of the craft’s chief designer, Dmitry Khmel.

AEROLЁT-01 is a hybrid airship. Such models combine aerostatic and aerodynamic lift. Its special shape significantly increases payload capacity and allows the airship to operate without ballast.

"This model, 18 meters in length, with an envelope volume of about 190 cubic meters, is rated for a payload capacity of around 50 kg. In the central section of the craft is a ballonet with a volume of 40 cubic meters, which is responsible for trim and for controlling the pressure inside the envelope", said Dmitry Khmel.

The specialists have now completed fabrication of the envelope: in the near future it will undergo pressure testing. New pressure relief valves and air blowers for the ballonet have also been developed and tested. Work continues on the tail section, including the empennage. Most of the gondola components have already been released for production. In parallel, the electronics are being prepared, and the servos and the powerplant are being tested.

The next task — completing the manufacture of the key components, followed by assembly of AEROLЁT-01.
