Basic GOST for Dirigibles Effective from 1 February 2027

We inform that Rosstandart has approved a basic GOST for dirigibles, which will come into effect on 1 February 2027. This is the first national document that sets common technical requirements for dirigibles as finished products. The standard covers all main construction types—soft, semi‑soft, semi‑rigid and rigid—as well as their components and the related ground infrastructure needed for operation.
The document defines uniform technical specifications that will be mandatory for all manufacturers and designers. It includes requirements for the airframe, envelope materials, control systems, and ground facilities such as hangar sites and servicing equipment. Having a single set of criteria will enable comparison of products from different producers on the same basis.
Previously such norms were either absent or scattered across departmental documents and individual developers’ technical conditions. The new basic GOST becomes part of a developing national series of regulations for lighter‑than‑air technology. This series already contains a GOST on general provisions, as well as standards that classify aerostats and dirigibles, regulate envelope materials, and address safety valves.
For AERONOVA this provides a unified regulatory foundation for designing and manufacturing new aerostat systems. We will align our developments with the requirements of the new GOST and incorporate it into upcoming certification processes. As new constructions appear, the normative base will expand, helping to keep technical conditions up‑to‑date and accelerate the market introduction of new products.
